Meghan Will Make You Smile!

I had the opportunity to catch the high-energy of Meghan Trainor as she brought her 2016 Untouchable Tour to the San Jose State University Events Center.  Trainor’s show was full of energy.  She has a very sassy charm about her along with an outstanding voice.  Her girl power and love of life is felt from the very start of her performance as she connects with her fan base.

There were two opening acts … the first one we completely missed.  We did catch Hailee Steinfeld who is an upcoming star in her own right with a gifted voice.  I thought she brought a good vibe that connected well with the audience.

Meghan got the crowd going quickly with some great upbeat songs that included two of my favorites … “Lips Are Movin” and “All About That Bass”

She focused on songs from her latest album but threw in a few surprises and a couple of favorites … some of the songs she performed included:

Woman Up
Watch Me Do
Me Too
Dear Future Husband
Good To Be Alive
Hopeless Romantic
Champagne Problems
Dance Like Your Daddy
Friends
One Dance
I won’t Let You Down
Kindly Calm Me Down
Throwback Love

Some of her stand out moments was when she shined during her acoustic performances, which featured just Trainor on stage with her Ukulele and a Guitar solo.  She also was joined by her father for her hit tune “Dance Like Your Daddy” … pops had some nice dance moves himself!

Trainor’s voice was right on this evening … I know she had some canceled performances due to her vocal hemorrhage. She had five band members backing her up along with an awesome dance team.  She did use some pre-recorded music along with back-up vocals for most of her set list … the good news, she wasn’t lip-synching and put a lot of heart and soul into every song.  The show was also filled with a cool mix of her videos over the last several years.

It was a night filled with Meghan Trainor showcasing her musical talent as she reached out to her fan base.  At age 22 she is inspirational and a very talented young lady with a very positive outlook on herself and life.
