Brad Garrett: Offending America One City at a Time

My wife and I recently went to Thunder Valley Resort Casino to see one of favorite comedians.  Best known for his role on the Emmy award-winning sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, Brad Garrett performed at Thunder Valley’s Pano Concert Hall.

With a 2,000-seat concert capacity, Pano Hall is the perfect venue for mainline entertainment with a more intimate setting. Located inside the casino, seating is comfortable, aisles are spacious, and with a raised platform, views of the stage are great from every seat.

Garrett started performing in Vegas in the ’80s as an opening act big-name performers including Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Liza Minnelli. With almost 25 years as a headliner on the Las Vegas Strip under his belt, Garrett always wanted to open a club in the city that helped launch his career.

Before opening his club at the MGM Grand, Garrett operated a club at the Tropicana. His new club features established comedians and up-and-coming acts. Garrett has also been known to show up for a surprise appearance from time to time.

If you’ve never seen Brad Garrett, I can some him up in one word … Hilarious!  He crushed it for nearly 90 minutes putting the sold-out crowd in stiches.  Every time we see Brad perform, he’s usually obnoxious and funny.  Note the word obnoxious … that means he’s not for everyone.

One word of caution … if you do get the opportunity to see Garrett perform, you may not want to get a seat in the front row … just a warning, there’s a good chance you could get picked on and that’s being nice.  I’ve witnessed a performance of his in Vegas with a woman in the front row unloading on him.

Before the show, we finally had the opportunity to dine at Thunder Valley’s “High Stakes Steakhouse.”  This is an excellent steakhouse from the service to the food!

It was a FANTASTIC experience. From the moment, we walked in, we were greeted and provided great customer service. Our waiter was professional and overall very friendly. Great ambiance throughout the restaurant.

We started out with Ahí Tuna Poke Poke Sauce, Soy Reduction, Crispy Wonton, Wasabi Cream.

For her main meal, my wife had the Deconstructed Beef Wellington, an 8 oz. Filet, Puff Pastry, Foie Gras Pate, Sliced Mushrooms, Demi-Glace, Bleu Cheese Mashed Potatoes.

I don’t eat much red meat, usually only at nice restaurants as a treat.  This one counted as a very nice restaurant, I enjoyed the 2-Inch Thick "Bone-In" New York Steak Wet Aged 14 Days, Dry Aged 21 Days.

We finished off our dinner with a nice dessert prepared by Executive Pastry Chef Stephen Smith.

Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake, with layers of Spiced Cheesecake, Graham Dacquoise, and Gingersnap Crust, served with Pumpkin Mousse and Salted Caramel.

I can also recommend checking out their signature cocktails like … Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch Bourbon, Simple Syrup, Angostura Bitters, Orange Bitters, Flamed Orange Peel.

We look forward to visiting the High Steaks again in the near future … and of course we’ll be looking forward to seeing Brad Garrett soon at the Brad Garrett Comedy Club located in the MGM Las Vegas.
